Little Brothers banquet for two
This is a fine restaurant, a bit pricey, but almost worth it, with high quality food, (and lots of it), efficient and professional service and a nice venue with easy, free basement parking at the little Garden Piazza centre in Terminus Street, Castle Hill.
Four of us dined on a busy Sat night in Nov. We ordered four Brothers Banquets at $50 each, and were impressed with the variety and the quantity of food. Dish and after dish was swiftly delivered to the table, starting with salads, dips, dolmades and hot Leb bread, then onto the lamb, beef and chicken skewers and sausages, and ending with delicious desserts and my fav strong Turkish coffee. Everything was fresh and tasty, there wasn’t one dish that disappointed. There was so much food that we couldn’t finish it all, but the wait staff kindly helped us to put the leftovers into a couple of plastic containers, which we took home and enjoyed for dinner the next night.
There were numerous wait staff on duty, all female, of course, and all neatly turned out in smart black uniforms. They were efficient, friendly and helpful. There was virtually no waiting time between dishes. These guys didn’t miss a beat the whole evening and everything ran smoothly from start to finish: That’s just the way I like it.
We ended up paying $253 for the four of us, and that included a few rounds of drinks, corkage and the four banquets. And in a nice touch to round off the evening, the maitre d penned a hand-written note at the back of our receipt, thanking us for our custom, and saying what a pleasure it was to host us at his restaurant. Haven’t seen that before, but it was welcome.
The only downside to all this positivity, and something that I did find a tad annoying, was that on the same night that we dined, the restaurant was hosting a hens night party, which occupied the entire inside of the place, leaving the non-hens-nighters to dine in the courtyard. Not that that bothered us, and it was quite pleasant sitting outside, under cover; it was just that the noise and all the activity emanating from inside didn’t make for a relaxing evening. I think, in fairness, the brothers should have closed the restaurant to the public for that night and given it over completely to the hens party.
There are male and female toilets inside the restaurant and they are clean and well stocked, except I struggled to get to them, with so many people packed inside, mostly standing around or dancing.
This is an expensive restaurant, and if I did go again I would check that there were no events scheduled on the same night. But in fairness, I should say that even the party didn’t detract from the attentive and fast service and I have to hand it to these guys, because the food is outstanding and the quantities are huge.
Underneath the little centre is a car park with oodles of spaces for you to park in.
Hands down the best tasting authentic Lebanese food in the area. Service second to none, Savio & Luis’ family are the best hosts and do everything they can to welcome us and make us feel at home no matter the party size or order. The food is excellent quality and excellent value. My preference among all the Lebanese food in the area.
